How to take care of your fire pit: The Cook King Flame Fire Basket has a simple frame made from strong steel that will withstand fires and it has a high temperature black powder coating to help prevent rust. It has a fluted shape with short legs for stability and gaps between the bars which will hold logs in but allow ash to drop through. Use for heat & light on a chilly evening or as a garden incinerator and the use of a base plate beneath the basket will collect the ash as it falls.

Black raw steel may have rust appear after some time—this is a natural process and is not a manufacturing fault. This can be maintained by sanding with a fine grade sandpaper and painting with a high-temperature paint. The inside of black steel bowls should not be painted, but can be coated with a thin layer of edible oil. Regular use of the Cook King products during the season will help to prevent corrosion.
